Cast Iron UK Foundry

Although the precise date Hargreaves Foundry started trading isn’t known, it’s documented that the 1881 census shows that Ebenezer Hargreaves was working as an iron founder, along with 6 labourers, sited in Halifax, West Yorkshire. A history of casting iron for 140 years, spanning three centuries, on the same site. Having started out manufacturing architectural castings and street furniture, production then moved to meet the needs of the machine tool industry created by the First World War. Hargreaves continued supplying castings to the many local engineering companies throughout the 20th century. A little while after the foundry then expanded into the Cast Iron Rainwater, Soil and Drain market, today it’s the UK’s leading cast iron rainwater manufacturer.
